about

NÜ JENT CITY, was released in 1994 on all major consoles to critical acclaim!
Starring Donnie aka "the Warrior Æsthete" & Bob aka "the Bromanticist", the game is a must for retro-gamers in search of a hidden gem. The soundtrack established the 'NÜ JENT SWING' era celebrating a fusion of new jack style and djent, two wildly disparate styles from very different cultural backgrounds, yet with very compatible rhythmic genetics. Amazingly though, 27 years after its release, this 3-track EP still sounds fresher than peppermint toothpaste! And can someone please tell us how old Martin Miller was at the time!?!? This wizkid appears on one of the songs taking it to a place far ahead of its time!!

--- ORIGINAL INTRODUCTION TO THE GAME ---

"In a (not so?) distant future. 1998. A radical group of zealots overthrew the faculty of what was once called the prestigious Nü Jent City University, and is now known as the T-Drome. From that moment, Nü Jent City was plunged into the darkness of a mild but never the less, cruel slavery. The Drome holds the population under its yoke via the invisible shackles of a mysterious art, the T-Ligion (or «Teeligion», the «Religion of the T-Drome»). Its supposed occult origin gives it the ability to blur the vision of the uninitiated (99,9 % of NJC's inhabitants). The coercive influence of the dark deity ensures the population constantly step on rakes which seem to materialise from nowhere!

Trapped in an infinite loop of nose-splitting rake face-strikes, their only chance of escape is to be provided the antidote EEI-ion. More commonly known as "2EI" or "the Ion", the antidote reverses the effect of the Teeligion and makes everyday walks across the yard to the mailbox safe once again. The precious substance and the process of its production has been scrupulously guarded by «K», a merciless, sanguinary, and believed to be fictional entity suspected of inhabiting the T-Drome. Although its existence would explain a lot of what is going on in NJC, few believe it really exists...

But it does, and none are more aware of its presence than Donnie and Bob!

Donnie, aka the Warrior Æsthete, aka WÆ, is a martial arts master and fine art sculptor, whose passion dwells somewhere between the Dō, Dave LaChapelle's work, and chicks. He is in love with Bobbie, a revered journalist who is also one of the most accomplished songwriters around.

Bob, aka the Bromanticist, aka the Bro, is a talented and passionate but broken-hearted new djent swing singer known for being as affectionate as he is violent with everything that he loves; words, humans and glasses of Laphroaig (that are often obliterated against the nearest wall!).

They will have to face their former "brother" Davy, aka Blackstar D, aka "the Blackstard", publicly known for being the T-Drome's fiercest evangelist. He has become WÆ's and the Bro's sworn enemy after they became aware of his sinister activities in the Drome. In his dark lab, he secretly carried out experiments on wild animals, which he intends to extend to humans. This could soon allow him to take full control of all Nü-Jent-Citizens (though being the leader of a blind army may have rather obvious consequences, these are the kind of details to which the Blackstard pays no mind). He is the last remaining from thirteen members of the board of directors of «K», after they all disappeared under mysterious circumstances. Some say not everyone at the board agreed to grant him the hefty bonus he desired in order to purchase a holiday home in the Bahamas.

It is alleged that Davy kidnapped Bobbie, who has not been seen since the weekend. Last Saturday, as most of the guests at her party, drunk and impassioned, were howling Michael Bolton lyrics into the karaoke microphone, neighbors heard her last known words, "It's my house! Get the f*** outta here!!!"

What is going on in Nü Jent City? Where is the mayor? Did Bobbie suffer traumatic experiences in her youth, like stepping on a rake while listening to Michael Bolton? Will WÆ and the Bro succeed in preventing the Blackstard from acquiring a luxurious villa in the Bahamas?

The boys are armed to the teeth, thirsty for justice and won’t stop until the Drome's ass is stitched to the wall!
